A quick note to replace the silence

mountainrunner.substack.com

I’ve been busy with other things, preventing me from finishing my next entry here (spoiler: it’s about the word propaganda and it needs to be dramatically shortened and tightened up). In place of that or anything else of substance from me right now, here are a couple of pictures from this morning’s trail run with my dog (5.5 miles, 570’ of ascent, with the temperature at 0ºC / 32ºF, a light snow began to fall soon after this pic). The streak in the first picture is a spider strand crossing the trail, which I noticed after snapping the pic and isn’t uncommon. My dog has a bright red light (sold for cyclists, not dogs) so I and others can see him as we’re usually running at least 90min earlier (this was 7a, a late start for me because the son is on exam schedule and didn’t have school today). We generally start at 5a-5:30a, or earlier when I’m running longer but I’m just returning to running after a nearly 3yr hiatus, as I need to be back home, waking the son, starting his breakfast (and his lunch), and doing dad things for my high school senior no later than 6:30a.

More relevant and interesting information to follow in the coming days. I hope your week was productive and your weekend enjoyable (and as productive as needed).
